ABC transporter thiamine pyrophosphate-binding lipoprotein p37/Cypl

Members of this family, restricted to the phylum Mycoplasmatota, are surface lipoproteins encoded as part of an ABC transporter operon, and shown to bind thiamine pyrophosphate, although not directly demonstrate to act in ABC transport of that substrate. The protein has attracted attention for links to oncogenic transformation and host cell invasiveness. This model resembles Pfam model PF06646, but covers the length of member proteins PF06646 and is more narrowly defined.

Gene:
cypl

Molecular Function:
thiamine pyrophosphate binding (GO:0030976)
Date:

putative cysteine peptidase

This HMM describes a region about 240 amino acids long with local similarity to C39 and C10 family cysteine peptidases, including the region of the active site Cys. Most members of this family occur in the phylum Mycoplasmatota.

GO Terms:
Molecular Function:
cysteine-type endopeptidase activity (GO:0004197)
Date:
2024-03-30
Family Accession:
NF045837.1
Method:

MMB_0454 family protein

This family, restricted to the phylum Mycoplasmatota, shows evidence of homology to some members of the Asp23 family (see PF03780), named for a Staphylococcus aureus stress protein called alkaline shock protein 23.

Date:
2024-03-30
Family Accession:
NF045836.1
Method:

HinT-interacting membrane complex lipoprotein P60

In Metamycoplasma hominis and other members of the phylum Mycoplasmatota, lipoprotein P60 and membrane protein P80 for a complex that interacts with HinT, a lineage-specific subgroup of the cytosolic histidine triad (HIT) family of proteins. A subset of the members of this family contain an additional central region of about 100 amino acids.

Date:
2024-03-30
Family Accession:
NF045835.1
