show Abstracthide AbstractMany pathovars within the species Xanthomonas campestris are phylogenetically allied with different species. Here we perform genome-wide sequencing of pathovars pathotype strains that, according to the gyrB-sequence analysis by Parkinson et al. (2009), are phylogenetically close to Xanthomonas euvesicatoria. This allows us to calculate average nucleotide identity (ANI) and thus help to circumscribe species boundaries.
