Transcriptome sequencing of Apis mellifera was performed by the Baylor College of Medicine (BCM-HGSC), using testes, antennae, larvae, embryo, and brain and ovary samples provided by the R. Maleszka lab. Reads were assembled into contigs using Newbler, and submitted to GenBank as Transcriptome Shotgun Assemblies (TSAs).
