The bottleneck in the duration required for the identification of non-tuberculous mycobacteria is the bacterial cultivation from sputum samples and it takes up to 8 weeks using the solid medium. In this study, we developed a method using MGIT cultures and achieved to identify bacterial species and predict macrolide resistance in 2 weeks at most.
