To explore the regulatory mechanism of age-related cataract (ARC) formation and progression,we construct sodium selenite-induced rat cataract model and performed the high-throughput RNA sequencing (HTS) technology to identify the mRNA and miRNA expression profiles of the lens from Na2Se03-induced and saline - injected Sprague Dawley rats. Overall design: Animals in the Na2SeO3 group were injected subcutaneously on the nape of the neck with 20umol/kg Na2SeO3 on days 3, 5, and 7, and animals in the control group were treated in the same way with the equivalent amount of saline. After extracting total RNA from six lenses (three rats from the control group and three rats from the Na2SeO3 group using TRIzol reagent and quality inspection was performed, RNA was sequenced using novaseq illumina 6000 Platform with 50 bp Single-ended Reads for microRNA.
