SRX10701803: Whole genome sequencing of Escherichia coli isolates from beef
1 ILLUMINA (HiSeq X Ten) run: 2.6M spots, 779.1M bases, 356.5Mb downloads

Design: The isolate was grown in LB at 35oC for 18 2h. The DNA of each culture was extracted using Qiagen Blood and Tissue kit following the manufactures instruction. The DNA samples were sent to Genome Quebec Innovation Centre, Montreal, QC, Canada for sequencing. Sequencing library was constructed using NEBNext Ultra II DNA Library Prep Kit and sequenced using Illumina HiSeqX PE (150bp)

Study: Genetic characterization of Escherichia coli in meat that harbor locus of heat resistance
show Abstracthide Abstract
The presence of locus of heat resistance is a common way of screening heat resistance in E.coli, however harboring LHR does not always confer extreme heat resistance suggesting other genetic components may play a role in heat resistance. WGS was performed to determine genetic determinants in E.coli for different levels of heat resistance and determine the evolution regarding the emergence of heat resistant strains of E.coli in a meat plant setting.
