In total 340 E. coli O26 strains were seuqenced. Strains were mainly isolated from patients with symptoms in Japan from 1994 to 2011. Human and bovine isolates from Belgium, USA, France, Netherlands, Swiss, UK and Italy were also sequenced in this project.
