To reveal a phylogenetic overview of Shiga-toxin producing Escherichia coli (STEC), we sequenced the STEC strains isolated from patients with or without symptoms, foods, animals, and environmental sources mainly in Japan and performed whole genome sequence-based phylogenetic analysis.
