Mice were housed in groups of 4 per cage and fed a non-purified diet, PMI Nutrition International Product #5001 (Purina Mills, Richmond, IN). Analysis of livers of long-lived B6C3F1 animals fed a diet containing metformin, glipizide, rosiglitazone, or soy isoflavone extract. Results compared to hepatic gene expression profile produced by long-term caloric restriction. Caloric restriction extends the life span of laboratory animals.
