Title Single-cell dissection of aggression in honeybee colonies
Organism Apis mellifera
Experiment type Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
Summary Each sample includes 5 pooled whole-brains from adult worker honey bees collected across two behavioral groups: soldiers and foragers. We used the Chromium Single Cell 3' Reagent Kits with the Chromium Controller (10x Genomics) and performed sequencing on the Illumina NovaSeq 6000.

Overall design We dissected and pooled 5 whole-brains from soldiers and forager adult worker honey bees. We collected one soldier and one forager sample (5 brains per sample) from four colonies (eight samples total, two per colony) headed by naturally mated queens at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Bee Research Facility in Urbana, IL. All samples were collected in August 2019.
