| Treatment protocol |
Transgenic mice overexpressing CHF1/Hey2 in the myocardium under the control of the mlc2v promoter and neonatal mouse cardiac myocyte culture was performed as previously described. To induce hypertrophy, neonatal myocytes in serum free medium were exposed to media with 20% fetal bovine serum for 24 hours.

For microarray hybridization, RNA was processed for hybridization to Affymetrix GeneChip® Mouse Gene 1.0 ST Arrays through a core facility in the Functional Genomics Laboratory at the Center for Ecogenetics and Environmental Health at the University of Washington according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
