Biotinylated cRNA were prepared according to the standard Codelink protocol from 2 microg total RNA using a CodeLink Expression Assay Reagent Kit.

| Hybridization protocol |
Following fragmentation, 10 microg of cRNA were hybridized for 18 hr at 37C on GE Healthcare/Amersham Biosciences CodeLink UniSet Human 20K I Bioarray. Bioarrays were washed and stained with streptavidin-Alexa 647 and washed again.

Bioarrays were scanned with a ScanArray Express HT scanner using ScanArray Express software.

| Description |
Cultured male corneal epithelial cells from a male donor age 56. Outgrowths were cultured from cornea rims in keratinocyte serum-free medium containing 50 µg/ml bovine pituitary extract and 5 ng/ml epidermal growth factor. At 70% confluence the corneal epithelial cells were lifted with trypsin and seeded onto collagen coated plates. This first passage was then grown to confluence in the medium above and the RNA isolated.

Data were analyzed with the CodeLink Image Analysis software using the default settings and normalized using global scaling to a median target intensity on each array of 1.0.
