| Treatment protocol |
Stx2 (5 ng/20 g body weight) was injected intraperitoneally, and kidneys were collected at 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24, 48 and 72 hours. Control kidneys without Stx2 (0 h samples) were collected. PBS (vehicle)-injected mice kidneys were also collected at 72 h as no LPS contamination control.

Mice, C57BL/6, male, 19-22 g, specific pathogen-free. Three mice per time point were used.

Total RNA extraction was performed with Rneasy Midi kit (Qiagen) according to the manufacturer's instructions.

| Data processing |
The data from CEL files were normalized with robust multi-chip averaging (RMA), and calculation of RNA copy numbers and fold changes against 0 h were performed in R (v.3.6.0) with affy package and RankProd 2.0.
