Title Comparison of microRNA expression profiles in soft palate muscle of patients with OSAHS and chronic tonsillitis.
Platform organisms Homo sapiens; Human alphaherpesvirus 1; Human alphaherpesvirus 2; Cytomegalovirus; Lymphocryptovirus; Rhadinovirus; JC polyomavirus; Human immunodeficiency virus 1; Merkel cell polyomavirus; Betapolyomavirus hominis; Betapolyomavirus macacae
Sample organism Homo sapiens
Experiment type Non-coding RNA profiling by array
Summary The expression profile of miRNAs in soft palate muscle of patients with OSAHS (obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome) and chronic tonsillitis was examined using miRNA microarray analysis. Combining with the following real time PCR and bioinformatics analysis, the physiological importance of the miRNA-autophagy interconnection is far more likely to be elucidated.

Overall design In the study presented here, four samples from soft palate muscle of patients with OSAHS and four samples from patients with chronic tonsillitis. These samples were used to acquire expression profiles of all human miRNAs annotated in miRBase 18.0
