Total RNA was isolated from CD14- cells using the RNeasy Mini Kit with DNase digestion on the column (Qiagen, Inc. Valencia, CA, USA) as per the manufacturer’s instructions.

Target was prepared from 50ng total RNA using NuGEN Ovation V2 kits, followed by NuGEN Encore biotin labeling module using the manufacturer's protocol

All samples were hybridized in parallel to different arrays on the same HT array plate using the manufacturer's protocol. Arrays were washed and stained on an Affymetrix GeneTitan instrument

Affymetrix .cel files were RMA normalized in ArrayStudio from Omicsoft Inc (version 4.1). Differential gene expression was analyzed using paired t-tests and genes were selected based on p-value (affymetrix probe sets with no associated gene annotation were not included)
