Treatment protocol |
Cerebroventricular microinjections (CMVI) in the telencephalic region of the brain were performed as described (Kizil and Brand, 2011, Barbosa et al., 2015). Fish were anaesthetized in 0.02% MS222 and held in a sponge. A small hole in the skull was made in the region between the telencephalon and the optic tectum using a micro-knife (Fine Science Tools). After the injections, fish were woken up in the aerated tank water and kept in their normal husbandry conditions.
