Systematic identification and comparison of expressed profiles of lncRNAs and circRNAs in male and female germline stem cells

(Submitter supplied) Male and female germline stem cells are critical for passing genetic information from generation to generation. Accumulating evidences indicate that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs) play important roles in self-renewal and differentiation of germline stem cells. However, the mechanisms remain largely unknown. In this study, we explored the mRNAs, lncRNAs and circRNAs expression profiles of male and female germline stem cells through high-throughput sequencing.

RNA sequencing of human periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) with Illumina HiSeq2000

(Submitter supplied) To study the molecular mechanisms underlying PDLSC osteogenic differentiation, we developed RNA sequencing with Illumina HiSeq2000 to comprehensively identify RNA expression profiles in normal PDLSCs, osteogenic inductive PDLSCs and mechanical force-induced PDLSCs. Plenty of RNAs were found to be differentially expressed by RNA sequencing. Furthermore, the potential functions of these RNAs were investigated using bioinformatic analysis.

Genome-wide analysis of differentially expressed profiles of mRNAs, lncRNAs and circRNAs in Cryptosporidium baileyi infection

(Submitter supplied) Background: Cryptosporidium baileyi is the most common Cryptosporidium species in birds. However, effective prevention measures and treatment for C. baileyi infection were less understood. Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) and circular RNA (circRNA) were discovered to play an important role in regulating occurrence and progression of many diseases and identified as effective biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis of several diseases. more...

Comparison of long non-coding RNA expression profiles in human periodontal tissue cells

(Submitter supplied) Human dental follicle cells (hDFCs) are precursor cells of periodontal development. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been revealed to be crucial factors that regulate a variety of biological processes; however, whether lncRNAs serve a role in human periodontal development remains unknown. Therefore, the present study used microarrays to detect the differentially expressed lncRNAs and mRNAs between hDFCs and human periodontal ligament cells (hPDLCs). more...

Genome-wide search for differentially expressed RNAs responsible for the effects induced by Ebola virus replication and transcription

(Submitter supplied) In this study, we conducted a genome-wide screen to identify differentially expressed long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs), circular RNAs (circRNAs), micro RNAs (miRNAs) and mRNAs during replication and transcription using a tetracistronic transcription and replication-competent virus-like particle (trVLP) system that models the life cycle of EBOV in 293T cells.

Comprehensive analysis of lncRNAs and circRNAs reflects the functional specialization in oxidative and glycolytic skeletal muscles

(Submitter supplied) The biochemical and functional differences between oxidative and glycolytic muscles affect human muscle health and animal meat quality, but the epigenetic regulation with respect to lncRNAs and circRNAs remains largely unknown. Here, we employed porcine oxidative and glycolytic skeletal muscles, at growth curve inflection point, to survey variant global lncRNAs and circRNAs expression using RNA-seq. more...

Transcriptome profiling identified a 3-lncRNA regulatory network in transthyretin against glucose induced hRECs dysfunction

(Submitter supplied) Transcriptome of human retinal endothelial cells (hRECs) treated with low glucose (LG), high glucose (HG) or high glucose with 4 uM TTR (HG+TTR) were conducted. Differentially expressed lncRNAs, mRNAs and TTR related lncRNAs and mRNA were acquired for further analysis. Functional annotation and enrichment including KEGG pathway, GO and GSEA were applied to analyze TTR regulated pathway and process. WGCNA analysis was implemented to obtain hub modules and genes. LncRNA-mRNA regulatory network were constructed based on cis, trans and ceRNA acting mode.

LncRNAs expression signatures of cumulus cells isolated from PCOS patients revealed by microarray

(Submitter supplied) Our study is the first one to determine genome-wide lncRNAs expression patterns in cumulus cells of PCOS patients by microarray. The results displayed that clusters of lncRNAs (n=623) were aberrantly expressed in PCOS patients compared with non-PCOS patients. Many differentially expressed lncRNAs were transcribed from regions on chromosome 2 and classified into enhancer-like lncRNA subgroup. XLOC_011402 (PWRN2) was found for the first time that it was not only expressed in testis but also in cumulus cells. more...

Genome-wide analysis of long noncoding RNA expression profile in patients with Marjolin’s ulcer

(Submitter supplied) Marjolin’s Ulcer is an aggressive cutaneous malignancy that typically ensues over a period of time in the post-burned lesions and scars or any other chronic wound. Marjolin’s Ulcer makes up 1.2% of all skin cancers, it is reported that 2% of squamous cell carcinoma and 0.03% of basal cell carcinoma originate in burn scars. Recent studies have shown that long non-coding (lncRNA) plays critical roles in a myriad of biological processes and human diseases,Since the roles of lncRNA in Marjolin’s Ulcer remain unknown, they were investigated in the study. Our findings indicate that the expression profiles of lncRNAs has changed in Marjolin’s Ulcer as compared with normal skin and para-cancerous scar, and may provide novel insight into the molecular mechanism underlying the disease and potential novel diagnostic or therapeutic targets for Marjolin’s Ulcer.

Genome-wide identification and comparison of mRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs in porcine intramuscular, subcutaneous, retroperitoneal, and mesenteric adipose tissues

(Submitter supplied) Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs), which were proved to play a crucial role in regulating cell differentiation and tissue development. However, the expression profiles of different RNAs, such as mRNA, lncRNAs, and circRNAs in different adipose tissues, are still largely unclear. To shed light on this issue, we performed the systematic analysis of mRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs obtained from intramuscular adipose tissues (IAT), subcutaneous adipose tissues (SAT), visceral adipose tissues (RPAT), and mesenteric adipose tissues (MAT) tissues of Chinese Erhualian pigs using high-throughput sequencing. more...
